From Becky Brandl
Kevin Feldman recommended Visible Learning by John Hattie a couple of times while presenting the Adolescent Literacy Project. I ordered it last semester and it's a meta-analysis. While listening to a different webinar on Common Core standards recently, the book was mentioned but I noticed that the cover of the book looked different than mine. So I searched the title and saw that a new edition was just released with the title Visible Learning for Teachers so I've ordered that one hoping that it has strategies and not just the research. It's recommended to use as a teacher Book Study.

If you have time to listen to a webinar, here is one that in my opinion is worth listening to. It's called Visible Learning: Knowing Your Impact on Learning (2-6-12) He mentions CCSS briefly and grading. FYI – if you download the slides, it looks like a brochure of advertisements at the beginning so keep scrolling.

Another webinar called Visible Learning Plus for Canadian Schools is also available (3-1-12) at that link. Both emphasize the strategies that Kevin and Anita Archer include in their trainings.
